as does the ancient New River’s calm waters,
creating picturesque locations. In addition to
the stunning scenery created by the changing

The oldest and most famous attraction in the

Factory. The factory produces and sells over 50
varieties of cheese, and kids of all ages
love getting to watch the delicious cheese
actually being made! Tour the cheese factory and

Another must-see Ashe County attraction is the

St. Mary’s Episcopal in West Jefferson to paint
Ashe County’s renowned Churches of the Frescoes
paintings. Visit both churches to view the
various fresco depictions of The Last Supper,
John the Baptist, The Crucifixion, and Mary,
Great with Child. It is recommended that you
call and make a reservation before stopping by
either church.
