Ashe County is one of the premier fly fishing
and trout fishing location in North Carolina’s
beautiful and majestic Blue Ridge Mountains.
Here the tranquil waters of the North and South
Forks of the New River meet and flow gently

and emerald green pastoral valleys. There are
several excellent creeks, streams and other
tributaries of the

Top Creek is a wonderful 10 mile stretch of
creek that is hatchery supported. Located near
the rural Three Top Mountain game land area,
Three Top Creek offers anglers a chance to cast
their lines and enjoy some peace and solitude.
Helton Creek is one of Ashe County’s more
famous delayed harvest trout creeks where one
can catch numerous types of trout. Stocked with
brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout,
Helton Creek is located right outside of
West
Jefferson and very close to our
Crystal Ridge
community. Peak Creek goes all the way to Trout
Lake which is an excellent place to fish near
the Blue Ridge Parkway. Also, Nathan’s Creek is
just near the Alleghany County border and is a
great place to enjoy as well.
